Give A Description Of Jesus

I was asked to give a description of Jesus. I gave the usual explanation of Revelations 1:13-19, and 19: 11-16. This person drew my attention, to what I feel is an oversite on my part. Most people have only investigated, as far as they have been told. They heard enough to satisfy their curiosity, and they left it at that. Most people haven't actually taken time to read the entire story for themselves. Revelations is the least read and understood book, in the entire bible. Revelations are the epistles of Jesus Christ himself. Why would Jesus need a description of himself?

I know I'm not the first person, to come to this revelation. I honestly hadn't read it, to get full understanding before now. I have used this scripture many times, to prove a point I thought. Without anyone ever calling my hand. They obviously hadn't read it either. I'm guilty of quickly dismissing the opinions, of non-believers and Muslims. Now I realize I was as wrong as they were. After much study and meditation, I've come to this conclusion. The holy bible doesn't give a description of Jesus.

Since the color of Christ came up in the Christmas greeting,i thought he would make interesting subject matter. METRO you are totally wrong.Revelation 1. brings us the first vision that christ gives john on Patmos.it is a vision of Christ HIMSELF.it i9s in this vision that the glorifed Christ proclaims his messege to the seven churches. But before he speaks to the churches,Christ gives John a glimpse of Himself. Where jesus does belong to all nation, we can not reject the fact that he walked among us in the flesh.Jesus also said that I and my Father are one. We have come to find that the Garden of Eden where all life begun was in africa. I know for some to reject the blonde haired blue eyed Jesus that hangs on many walls is a sin.But thats not Jesus Thats a homosexual who posed. does it bother you if you're white that Jesus was dark skinned?

No Thaddeus it is you who are totally wrong. And you're supposed to be a preacher. Go back and read, scripture backs me up. Revelation is the vision Jesus gives to John, to write down for us. Giving us some idea what God looks like. Who no one has ever seen. Why would Jesus have to give a description of himself? People have seen him, Jesus walked the earth. Afterall he was crucified on the cross remember. Don't try to throw in the part about a homosexual posing for the picture, that's beside the point. That never came up until the late 60's. The picture you speak about comes from the fact that we don't have a description in the bible. If we did they couldn't create an image. The garden of eden was in Africa, but it would now be considered Iraq. Does that mean Jesus looked like Saddam Huessein? Remember the earth is constantly moving. The climate has changed in your lifetime, to give you a point of reference. Let's humor for accusation for a second. Even if that was a description of Jesus, that doesn't say he was dark. You've taken his feet, and left off the rest of his body.It doesn't bother me in the least bit. I know it really doesn't matter what color Jesus was. I just know if you fall for something, you're bound to fall for something else. Those sidetracked with the color of Jesus, instead of his character. Really don't get it.

Metro,

Give Thaddeus a break, I am the one who critized the Michelangelo depiction of Jesus based on that first blog photo. My critique still stands and there is no dispute about what "God looks like." God presented himself to us as Jesus to solve that mystery. The dispute is what Jesus looked like and I say definitely not the Michaelangelo depiction of JESUS!

Thad's biblical reference to a description of Jesus is correct. Also, Thad's declaration of the Garden of Eden being in Africa is also a good guess based on science... but probably near the source of the Nile river much further south of Egypt. There is no divine description of where the Garden of Eden was. The Bible and science tend to suggest Noah's ark came to rest in present day Turkey.

C'mon Metro, while we all agree we are brothers and sisters in Christ, my ire was raised by the continued distribution of the "blonde blue eyed Jesus," particularly on a blog like Thad's. My comments above from the Book of Matthew is available for all to go check.

Jesus was not blonde and blue eyed, period.

We've all got to figure out a solution to this "problem." It is "natural" to want Jesus to look like you...age, color, race, sex, weight, etc... just as the the poor "christian KKK" wants Jesus to be "no parts Black."

Based on the Book of Matthew, Jesus had 29 Hamitic (Black) generations, 14 Semitic (Brown) generations and no Japhetic (White) generations. He was consider to be a Hebrew.

WHEN jOHN WROTE THIS LETTER,OR RECEIVED THIS REVEALATION,JESUS HAD BEEN GONE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.THUS THE DESCRIPTION JESUS GIVES IS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.SO IS YOUR PROBLEMS THE FACT THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHO TO FOLLOW A MAN WITH DARK SKIN OR A HOMOSEXUAL

Just Curious,

If you agree with Thaddeus that just makes you wrong too. If you know what God looks like, you're wasting time on this blog. You've seen something no one else has.You need to tell somebody. You are a prophet. This blond haired blue-eyed Jesus you keep talking about. Where do you see this image? This is just another example of someone criticizing the church. That doesn't know what they're talking about, and probably doesn't even go. You were right saying Jesus didn't have blond hair and blue eyes. You should stick to that argument, and quit while you're ahead. In this one you are wrong.

BTW: Since you agree with Thaddeus.Maybe you can paste the description of Jesus, he didn't.

Thaddeus I know who to follow, and it's neither one.

Revelation 1
1The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

2Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Metro,

I have noticed the one thing you have not done is to dispute the genealogy results of Jesus' hebrew origins as presented by me on this blog from the Bible's Book of Matthew.

I am surprised you have never heard of a sect of indigenious Israeli Hebrew Jews that are darker skinned than most African-Americans you have seen here in the United States.

I am satisfied that I have shed a little light on how we brothers and sisters in Christ here in the Metro Memphis area can begin to address our biggest challenge...RACE.

Take the case of poor KKK above... "My Jesus was not a nigger"... just think, he's going to go check the Book of Matthews and either have a change of heart or get himself a new "Savior."

PS: As for predictions...Thaddeus will succeed with his planned recall of Memphis' Mayor. "I can see this!" Get on board.

It doesn't take much to throw many of the people off the course, when it comes to religion. I don't dispute all of what you said, but a lot of it I do. I won't do that much writing on this blog, go to mine if you want to discuss it in depth. Double click on my name, it'll take you there. I already covered this subject in detail. The best way we can address the issue of race, is not focus on it.

PS: If I were a betting man, I'd take your money.
